Capital SUP is excited to announce the return of three events: Yappy Hours, Eco Tours, and River Sweepers. Whether you’re a dog lover, nature enthusiast, or passionate about preserving our waterways, these events offer a unique and enjoyable experience on the water for everyone.

First up are Yappy Hours, fun events for dogs and their humans. Capital SUP understands that dogs are an integral part of many families, so we’ve created yappy paddleboard hours to celebrate our furry friends and share the water with them. These dog-friendly gatherings run twice a month, once at Nautilus Point and once at Quiet Waters. With the help of locally famous doodle pups, Kaden and Addie, and their hosting owner, Chan Mee, these events are always a hit. Join us for these dates at one of our two locations:

  • Nautilus Point: Thursday, July 6th, Tuesday, August 8th
  • Quiet Waters: Thursday, June 22nd, Thursday, July 27th, Thursday, August 24th

During Yappy Hours, dogs must be leashed and their owners are responsible for picking up after them. This ensures a safe and clean environment for everyone to enjoy. Misbehaved dogs may be asked to leave to maintain a positive and fun atmosphere. Mark your calendars and register today HERE!

Next are Eco Tours, a unique way to immerse yourself in the Chesapeake. Capital SUP’s Eco Tours provide the learning opportunities while paddleboarding. These tours are conducted at both of our locations on Back Creek and Harness Creek, offering breathtaking views and a chance to connect with the local ecosystem. Led by experienced Quiet Water’s Ranger Liz and our wildlife photographers Jack and Brendan at Back Creek, these tours promise an educational and engaging experience. Upcoming dates on the schedule include: June 17th, June 24th, July 1st, July 8th, July 15th, July 22nd, August 5th, August 19th, and September 2nd.

Each tour will provide insights into the surrounding flora, fauna, and the importance of environmental conservation. Learn more and register HERE!

Last are the River Sweepers events, allowing you to truly paddle with purpose. If you have a passion for preserving our waterways, the River Sweepers events are your chance to make a difference. Every Thursday at 6:00 PM, five paddlers can volunteer to participate in the cleanup efforts at both Quiet Waters and Nautilus Point.

This initiative is a partnership between Capital SUP and Arundel Rivers Federation. Arundel Rivers provides mesh bags and attachable paddle hooks to make it easier to collect river trash during the volunteer paddle. Not only will you contribute to the well-being of the local ecosystem, but you’ll also paddle for free as a thank you for your dedication. The River Sweepers events are held weekly, allowing you to regularly engage in this worthy cause. Reserve your spot HERE!
