KEVIN HAIGIS
CEO-
“Mr. Positive Vibes” was born in Baltimore and raised in Annapolis MD. In 2008, he started working for a valet company downtown where he grew passionate about the history of Annapolis and its waterways. Kevin graduated from Virginia Tech in 2010 with a degree in Nutrition & Exercise and prior to starting Capital SUP in 2014, he had a 5 year run as a Master Trainer at 24 Hour Fitness in Annapolis. In the off-season months, he is a licensed Medicare, Health and Life Insurance agent.
In 2017 Kevin co-founded the Live Water Foundation where he still serves on the board of directors and helps to run the multiple community giveback programs of the organization
In 2022 Kevin welcomed his first daughter Lilleighann Haigis into the world
Kevin keeps his time busy but encourages the importance of a healthy work/life balance. He lives by a self-motto that keeps him driven for more realizing anything is possible.

JACK BALLARD
General Manager-
Jack has grown up at Capital SUP, entering his first SUP race in the summer of 2015, and has been competing in races up & down the East Coast ever since! A regular at race training, he enjoys the competition and the camaraderie among all the local paddlers. This is Jack’s seventh summer as an official team member where he loves being on the water and sharing his knowledge with new and seasoned paddlers alike.
Off the water, you’ll find Jack running, mountain biking or pretty much anything that keeps him outside. Jack has also recently graduated from the University of Maryland with a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering.
MEGGIE GIBBONS
Brand and Merchandise Manager-
Meggie was born in Washington DC and raised in Annapolis MD with a passion for being on the water. She grew up playing many different sports and spending her free time kayaking and paddle boarding on the Chesapeake Bay.

Meggie graduated from the Catholic University of America in 2023 with a degree in Sociology and a minor in Information Technology.

She stayed active in school, playing women’s lacrosse for two years. Now back in Annapolis, Meggie is ready to get back into watersports.

We are all stoked for the 2024 season, and to see how Meggie continues to grow in the paddle community through her new role at Capital SUP.
JACK TURNER
Lead Tour Guide & Wildlife Photographer-
Jack is an Annapolis native where he has established himself as an enthusiastic nature photographer and environmental scientist. Jack brings a keen understanding of local wildlife and aquatic ecosystems to our team, and uses photography as a tool to drive conversations on how we relate to the environment.

As the Guide Leader for our Eco Tours and Adventure Paddles, Jack immerses participants in the natural world around us to identify wildlife and educate paddlers on the wonders of the Chesapeake Bay. Jack’s upbeat style and wealth of nature knowledge ensure that you will come away with interesting new facts on wildlife, plants, and ecology!
BRYAN GOMES
Tour Guide-
Bryan has almost two decades of environmental education, water sports pursuits, public outreach and team building experience to his credit. He has a B.A. in Marketing/Psychology and a MEd. in Post-Secondary Education from Salisbury University.
Bryan is passionate about the outdoors and has thru-hiked the Appalachian Trail, from Georgia to Maine; kayaked the length of the Chesapeake Bay from Havre de Grace, MD to the Atlantic Ocean, and as a lifeguard, lived in a tent on the beach at Assateague State Park. He holds current certifications as a Wilderness First Responder, Maryland Master Naturalist, AA County Watershed Steward and an ACA level 2 instructor/guide. Bryan lives in Annapolis near the shores of the Severn River and enjoys swimming, fishing, paddling, cooking, birding, beekeeping and moonlights as a DJ.
MARISSA WALCH
SUP Yoga Instructor

Marissa Walch grew up on Lake Norman in NC, went to school at Wrightsville Beach in NC and then moved to Baltimore, MD in 2011. She started practicing yoga in California in 2009 as well as paddling and then trained at the Wilmington Yoga Center for her 200 hour followed by Charm City Yoga for her advanced training and then has completed many certifications since then including: TRX Training, SUP Yoga Teacher Training, Spinning, Restorative Yoga Teacher Training, etc.
During this time she was already working full time teaching group fitness classes, leading retreats, yoga workshops, as well as virtual and in person personal training. The yoga studio became Marissa’s home as well as being on the water. She loves sharing her creative sequencing with all bodies and provides opportunities for building full body strength, developing flexibility and injury prevention. Her classes are mainly a vinyasa based sequence, powerful, therapeutic and relaxing. Fun Fact: Marissa has her own YouTube Channel – www.YouTube.com/MarissaWalch
JAIME KLINE
SUP Yoga Instructor & Sound Healer-
Jaime is a 500-hour Registered Yoga Teacher and certified Sound Healer. Jaime is also a certified SUP Yoga and paddleboard instructor, and has been paddling for eight seasons, including participating in local and regional races. Jaime has well over 1000 hours of related trainings and has taught thousands of students. Jaime launched her holistic wellness business in 2023 and offers yoga and sound healing, Reiki, sound healing training, and an on-demand membership through her business. Her classes and programs combine her understanding of yoga and meditation, Buddhism and sound for truly transformational experiences.
TRACY DEVINE
SUP Yoga Instructor-
Tracy Devine’s (RYT200, RPYT) love of the water was born on the crystal-clear lakes of Maine and nurtured over time off the beaches of Montauk, NY and here on the Chesapeake Bay.
Tracy offers alignment-based SUP yoga and meditation and approaches her classes with a focus on inclusion and light-hearted play. Teaching since 2013, she’s a firm believer that we all need time to get outside, slow down, breathe, and sometimes just laugh a bit!
Tracy holds a WPA Level 1 certificate and additional certifications in Aerial, SUP Yoga, Pregnancy, Baby & Me, Children’s Yoga, and TRX Suspension Training. She has participated in a few SUP races, but her true love is a good, long recreational paddle with her family or friends.
When she is not teaching, she works as an independent events consultant, helping conservation- and community-based non-profit organizations enhance their relationships through strategic planning, communications, and the design and execution of high-end events. Tracy lives in Catonsville, MD with her husband, two children – Maya and Keller, and one completely bonkers black lab named Tully.

JENN MARONEY
SUP Breathwork Instructor-
Jenn Maroney has 12 years experience as a mental health professional. She is a Somatic Healer & Breathwork Facilitator. After exploring ancient wisdom traditions, alternative modalities, and cutting-edge therapies, she offers a more comprehensive approach to mental wellness. Jenn works 1:1 with her clients, coaching them through transformative healing experiences. Jenn brings the relaxation and serenity of her breathwork practice to the water to combine the peacefulness of both breathwork and the outdoors.
ANNA WHIPPLE
Fitness Instructor-
Hey there! I’m Anna, a fitness enthusiast with an 8 year background in CrossFit where I’ve worn multiple hats as an athlete, coach and competitor. My journey has been fueled by a determination to continually push limits and a passion for functional movements that build strength and instill confidence from within. As a coach, my priority is to encourage others to reach their full potential. Nothing makes me happier than seeing the growth that comes with hard work day by day. I’m excited to be leading SUP Strength & Condition, a dynamic full-body workout for all levels, combining bodyweight movements with paddle intervals to build strength, capacity, and core stability. When I’m not training, you’ll likely find me surfing the waves or simply embracing the freedom of the ocean – it’s where I feel most alive and at peace.
BESTY MILLER
SUP Yoga Instructor-
Betsy is a returning SUP Yoga instructor and loves teaching classes with local add-ons like fresh lemonade, juice, coffee, kombucha, and more. Her flows are dynamic and fun! She says, “I’m so excited to return as a SUP yoga instructor!”Betsy regularly teaches hot vinyasa classes in Baltimore but loves getting out on the water for SUP yoga in the summers. When she’s not teaching or working her day job, she loves to hike, read, and travel to visit friends.
BECKY COWARD
Fitness Instructor-
Becky has been a fitness professional since 2002. She went to The University of North Carolina at Greensboro (UNCG) and earned her B.S. in Exercise Sports Science in 2003. She has been a Personal Trainer, Spin instructor, and group fitness instructor since then. She has worked in several clubs and studios in her career and has many long term clients (15 years!) Becky has worked with all sorts of special populations , such as clients with: Crohn’s disease, fibromyalgia, pregnancy, post partum, torn meniscus, back issues, shoulder issues, arthritis, PTSD, depression, etc. She has won Best Spin instructor for 3 years in a row, and best personal trainer in her area. She is passionate about training and wellness.
She also co-runs an online fitness platform called FOMO-Fitness Online Makes Opportunity. Becky meets people where they are and teaches her clients daily habits that lead to overall better health. She knows that movement, eating well, and mindset are key pieces to a healthy and fulfilling life. She coaches her clients to set goals, eat well, and guides them toward a balanced outlook on all things.
KATIE HAXTON
SUP Yoga Instructor-
Katie Haxton is a 200RYT vinyasa instructor who has been practicing yoga for 9 years. She believes in a holistic approach to achieve overall well-being, with heavy doses of sunshine, fresh air, and sweat. She is passionate about helping students feel connected and at home in their bodies, and is always inclusive in her instruction of all body types and abilities. She wants to make yoga accessible and fun for all bodies.
Katie lives on Kent Island with her three children, husband, and their dog Clover. She loves spending time outdoors; sewing, crafting or cooking; and creating hilarious social media posts about her family life. She is also an aspiring writer.
